Default First Inspection - when oh when will it happen?!

    Hi All,
I have been registered a year now.
Look after 6 little ones of all age ranges and at different times.
Love the job and all its challenges - still struggling with planning and linking it to childs next steps though - never worked in Childcare before and had no idea how much it entailed!
I am still waiting for my first inspection to get my grading - how long has everyone else waited ?
Just want to get it over and done with!
Also have read that there are 4 policys Parents must have to take home - got a book full of Policys , Parents have read and signed to say they have - which are the 4 they must have a copy of? Other than Safeguarding ?
Many thanks - love this forum soooooo useful!!

It's awful waiting! Mine was bang on 6 month after pre-reg and I'm in London.

I'm not sure which 4 are absolutely necessary, but I would say Medicine, Behaviour, Lost Child, Safeguarding and Complaints. You will probably want/need more policies than this such as Sickness policy to cover yourself and let parents know exactly what your policies are.

I email my policies and then print out a form with a list of the policies for the parent to sign as proof they have read and understood your policies.

    Oh and No Smoking!

Make sure your Safeguarding policy includes the use of mobile phones and camaras within the setting
