Informing Ofsted about problems
A while ago we were advising people to ring Ofsted if they were worried about parents, neighbours, friends etc making false accusations against them.
The advice came straight from Ofsted and we were told that the calls would be logged.
But when people ring them nowadays they get a 'we don't care we will have to investigate anyway' response so it appears they have changed their policy and don't want to hear it any more.
The rules around investigating complaints have changed - I imagine that has got something to do with it.
Now they either ask you to investigate a complaint internally or they turn up on the doorstep for safeguarding complaints and do a full inspection.
The best advice now is to make sure everything is recorded, all responses to parents are in writing and filed away, complaints are fully investigated following EYFS rules etc.
I hope that helps those in this difficult situation. There is always advice and help on the forum and if you don't want to post something you can always ask a moderator to do it for you - confidentiality is assured.

Thank you sarah
When someone tells you nothing is impossible, tell them to go slam a revolving door

Thanks Sarah - sound advice as always!
Not a very reassuring response from Ofsted though!

Ofsted seem to just have a couple of standard phrases that their call operator staff use
1) refer to EYFS guidance
2) we have to investigate all complaints
not sure if we do actually talk to real people or if it is just next stage of their awful "press this button for x and this button for y" phone system!

If they investigate your or another issue or complaint you will have another graded inspection in six months whatever the outcome of the inspection.
