    Default planning for a four month old????

    hi there, just a quick question, how am i meant to plan for a 4 month old - im really confused with the whole planning thing and just do not know what i'm meant to be writing in regards to my planning for a four month old????

    you don't simply

    you can't

    you meet their basic needs and nurture them

    you do some basic long term planning and that is it.

    Your planning is 2 fold... routine planning to meet their needs as Pip says and following your observations with ideas for next steps activities which help them to develop and grow and learn more about the world around them.

    there is lots of information in the development matters document too

    As above. and next steps are likely to involve more of the same. For example if observation is "child giggled when I played round and round the garden with her", next step might be "continue playing / singing rhymes regularly and gradually introduce new ones".
