    Default Observations help

    Hi.

Can you in include in your observations what you do? So for example x was playing with play dough. I used a pencil to make eyes on the cat I had made. X saw this and took the pencil and did the same on the teddy she had made. She also used the pencil as a rolling pin as didn't have a rolling pin.
    Thank you.

Yes I do include in my observations if I have any input eg: demonstrate something if they are struggling, verbal instructions that sort of thing. Particularly good that your lo used the pencil as a rolling pin - characteristic of learning "Creating & thinking critically"

Children's play should be a balance of adult led (you planning for the child), adult guided (you helping the child to play) and child initiated (the child deciding what they want to do).

Your observations will reflect the balance of play you provide
