When to get insured?...

Hi

I've recently become a registered childminder, have not started yet but am advertising so I was wondering when I should get insurance?

I've made the decision already to go with MM but just wasn't sure exactly when to get a policy...

I'd get a quote, get all the info ready and get the insurance to start just before you start your first real mindee. Check with the insurer that they can arrange instant cover, or otherwise how long it takes. There is no need to be insured until you are working, I think, again, I'd ask the insurer for their advise. Is this Public Liability you are talking about? Also check your house contents, buildings and car insurance to check they cover for CMing in your home.
