7 year old starting tomorrow

Hi I have my first mindee tomorrow who is 7 years old ,as I am new to this could someone please advise me on what paperwork i need to do (obs, planning, diaries etc) and do you set activities or let them choose what they want to do?

You should ask the child what s/he likes to do and use that as a basis for your planning.

You don't need to write anything down. You might choose to plan some themes for the younger children and involve the older one... the older child might do their own planning and let you know what they want to make so you can buy the resources etc.

Mostly though you just need a child information form and a contract, permissions for older children and maybe a scrap book for memories.

thank you sarah thats a great help, i only have him tomorrow for couple of hours then a possible day in june half term so pleased i don't have to do too much paperwork.

I like the scrapbook idea, i think i will start one - I have a ten year old and that would work beautifully i think
