    Default Summary of learning journey/report

When a child leaves your setting do you do a summary sheet/report to go with it, I plan to if the child is going to another setting however what if the child is not going to another setting.

It would depend how long it is since I've done one - if the lj was shared with parents in the last couple of months then I probably wouldn't do another report but just bring it up to date with photo's/obs and give it to them.

    Hi!

If the child goes to another setting, I'm planning to do a 'Transition report' for them, basically a summary of their Learning and Development and where they are at.

Also how long they stayed with me (with my details) and any comments parents might have...

If they are not going anywhere then I guess just hand the LJ book over to parents

Thank you for the link, looking at it I think I might just use the summery sheet with a parents comments box.

you are welcome - Pauline could put it in the downloads section .

I do this termly. I found using the ECM bits helpful when doing my SEF - looking back through the reflections helped me answer stuff and see my changes and efforts.

I think you have to have a certain number of posts before you can view them, could be 4?

Thank you Pipsqueak, we use a similar form but without the ecm bit. I think I will introduce that part to my setting too.

Just a question - what do they mean by "Consider practice/professional strengths"? For the child?

    xx
