thanks Sarah x
YEARS ago, one of the organic baby foodcompanies did a super poster with all the portion sizes on for babies, toddlers and 3-5 yr olds. I had it on the inside of a food cupboard, and often copied it to give to parents .. it got lost in my last move, and I've never been able to find it in a simple form! that link will help!

That's why we plan and practice fire drills.
It's one of the reasons all minded children nap downstairs.

Yes it's good practice to do regular fire practices but there is nothing in the Eyfs to suggest they have to be written if you can explain them to your inspector.
there is free record keeping paperwork here if you find it helpful - https://www.childcare.co.uk/free-childminder-paperwork.
We had the fire service round to advise on upstairs / downstairs and they said we were to exit and leave any sleeping babies / children upstairs (with closed doors) and ring 999. That doesn't sit well with me so everyone here sleeps downstairs...
I hope that helps

All those reasons are why we need to have an escape route/action plan for all possible scenarios in mind. It's not for Ofsted, it's for us and the safety of everyone in our house. When the fire brigade came to inspect my premises they asked if my family had were all familiar with the escape routes/action plan, and they helped us devise one. It's a good idea for you to do one with your partner and child as well as one for yourself during childminding hours.
