]Hello everyone Please I'm after some advice, the boy I mind broke his leg 6 weeks ago (not with me) now mum has asked if he can come back to me? He's still not walking on it and uses a Zimmer frame so I'll basically have to carry him around (he's 4) now I have three other kids to look after as well. What are your thoughts? Thanks

Excuse the miss spelling I can't seem to get there to correct it again thanks x

Do you have to go on school runs during the day, if so how will you manage?

Also is your house set up for a child with a zinger frame.
    Where's you toilet?
What will happen to the other children while you are helping.
Have you got steps to your house.
Will it stop you doing your daily routine? Getting out and about for example?

I imagine the mum is desperate for the child to get back to you so she can get back to work.

At 4, the child could be in a full-time reception class. I think they would be back at school with support.

As a lone worker, I think it would be incredibly difficult to cope with this child plus your other children all at the same time.

Why not give your insurance company a ring and see if you are covered to take the child back. Sorry to be doom and gloom but if the child slipped and fell or tripped when a toddler brushes past them you need to know you are covered. Then this may give you your answer.

Also, you need to think about emergency evacuations/fire practice. In a school he would be given extra support to cover all the things mentioned already.

Also I'd like to add that you need to think of H&S at work for yourself. How would you carry a 4yr old...if you injured your back, how would you cope?...you wouldn't be able to work...pay bills etc. You would be out of work......

There's a lot to think about. I wouldn't be carrying as I don't carry any child who walks due to having an unpredictable back. A lot of the time I usually get down to babies level, instead of carrying them around so I definitely couldn't carry a 4yr old.
Time Out.. The perfect time for thinking about what you're going to destroy next.
