I hatched chicks in a incubator last year, this year I stuck some eggs under one of my broody hens, two chicks so far(out of 6 eggs) she hasnt noticed they look nothing like herself, a completely different breed of chicken

I would love to hatch the chicks but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to take that on. We have had caterpillars (5) which are now in their cocoons and should emerge as butterflies any day now. I hope it's before I finish for Easter or my mindees will miss them.

When I first started to keep chickens I bought 4 hens (so I thought) and then one morning I heard one of them crowing! That's when I knew

Most people try and give them away or sell them if they are a pure breed. Otherwise they just get culled. Just wish someone would breed a 'silent' breed of chicken
