    Default hand foot and mouth or impetigo

    i one of my mindees was diagnosed with either one of the above on wednesday .. t hey wasnt sure which one it was

    How long do you exclude for either of these?

    Impetigo is exclusion until it has healed - unless it can be covered by clothes in which case they can come back a day earlier.

    It must be treated - it is very catching.

    Hand foot and mouth doesn't have an exclusion time so it's up to you and how the child is feeling.

    that is odd. they are very different. One is red/white blisters the other honey coloured crusty blisters.

    we are having problems with the doctor!

    He is a doctor not a GP and training to be a GP... another child gone there today who has not even been round the first child and he has said hand foot and mouth ..... however she has spots on her feet up her legs and on her bum .. looks more like chicken pox!!!

    I have suggested they all stay off until the spots have completely gone

    hand foot and mouth disease is infectious and should be excluded till symptoms ease iv had 2 children in my care with this

    that doctor sounds smart!! think i'd be thinking of reregistering elsewere
