Just got back from a training session with di chivers... only a morning session but i could have sat all day it was about young children talking and conversation.

i throughly enjoyed it and also got some freebies lol 2 little books one on mark making and one on outdoor play, another book by elizabeth jarmin about pack away play.

if you ever get a opportunity to listen to her take it up i am going to be on the look out for her again.

she works for national stratergies eyfs people lol

she said in the eyfs evaluation people wen tout to speak to children in different settings and most cam back as seeing adults as people who help clean up, make them better if they hurt, are there to ask for help if they get stuck, only 2 settings did children say adults in their setting were playmates and one of those was childminders the other a specialised nursery.

I hope my children see me as a playmate! I work hard to join in and be one of the kids.

It sounds like you had a very inspiring time

I'm not sure if mine would say I was a playmate - I'm the one that has to be whatever they want me to be - the customer in the shop, the baby (yes, really!) sister, the tickle monster (don't ask).
