    Default Table decoration

This isn't minding related but knowing how great you all are at coming up with ideas.......

DD1 is doing her hostess badge for Brownies and she needs to make a simple table decoration for next week.

What can we do? All I can think of is making tissue paper flowers and sticking them in a vase which isn't exactly awe inspiring!

    thank you

Some ivy wound around either a ring of oasis or chicken wire - add some small green apples stuck into it and a pillar candle in the middle - could add holly too?

Does she have a theme? I'm better a thinking about these things when I have colours / themes to go from!

    Terracotta plant pot.
    Oasis inside
    Stick in candle
    Decorate with greenery
    Tie ribbon on outside

If there's time and she's feeling creative she could paint the outside of the pot too.

Something like this could be easy to replicate:

Buy some shiny paper and pipe cleaners - can go with same colour theme or multi=coloured. Use thin wire or freezer bag ties to attach stars, pom poms, etc to the pipe cleaners. Wrap a tin of tuna (or something canned) in the shiny paper and use curling ribbon to tie it together with the pipe cleaners in it.

Hope I don't get in trouble posting these links! Really like the take on paper lanterns.

No there isn't really a theme that she needs to do.

No extra points for breaking your heart or bank account - go to the garden and get a few leaves or get some bit of bush with berries etc and put them in a small container or vase - thats all you need to do - nothing elaborate its the child who has to do it after all not you.

There was a very simple one in this month's creative steps made from a paper plate - paint it red or whatever colour; divide the innner part into 8 and cut so they curl up; decorate with tinsel, pompoms etc and put candle through the middle of the plate (not recommended you light it though!)

    Keep smiling!
