    Question Rash Advice needed ASAP

    Child has come in this morning with a rash all over his hands but nowhere else, they are like klittle spots with with heads on any ideas?

    Poor thing, my mindee had this last year and it wasn't nice (nor helped by fact mum helpfuly packed salt and vinegar crisps and pineapple chunks in the midst of it! yeeeeowch!!)

    poor thing it does sound like hand and mouth and is very common with lo but also infectious so best get mummy to have him checked by g.p or pharmacist.

    There's no exclusion period no, as long as child is well and able to take part There's no treatment either, just symptomatic relief like calpol etc. If you think he should be at home then that's your call

    one of my mindees (and his mum) had it really badly in their mouth. I would exclude or it means no toddler groups etc, or the other mums/minders wouldn't be too happy with you. I stayed in with mindee for 2 days then told mum I wouldn't have her on x day as the other mindee needed to get out for a while.

    It's your decision - it's a bit like conjunctivitis - no exclusion period but highly contagious.

    Personally I would ( I do for conjunctivitis too) because it is contagious and he may pass it on to you or other mindees and trying to keep up with cleaning toys would be a nightmare.

    Ive just said 48 hrs, if I didnt have so many children in it probably would of been ok!

    Thats what i would of done and what i do with conjunctivitus. hope he feels better soon
