    Default Chicken pox

One of my lo's developed spots yesterday after having been really ill last week. It looked suspiciously like cp to me and rash is worse today so mum has kept her home.

Do I need to inform other parents? I have one parent who is pregnant - am I right in thinking that its not dangerous to unborn?

Chicken pox can be dangerous to pregnant mums yes - she should speak to her health visitor for advice.

Oh right thanks sarah - on the nhs direct site it said that its not but I thought it was. Maybe it means its not dangerous if mum has an immunity http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/chicken...hat-is-it.aspx

I was told when pregnant I was immune if i had already had chicken pox.

There is a small risk in first trimester where it can affect the unborn baby
Always best to be safe and tell parents.
