    Default Maternity Pay????

Sorry I know this has been asked before but I cant find the thread anywhere!!! Said I would find out for my friend....How does it work with being a self employed childminder who pays Class 2 National Ins? Do you get the standard amount of £400 or does it depend on what your weekly/monthly pay is? Thanks in advance for your help xxxx

Did they go off your earnings as to how much they pay you? I think my friend claims she earns about £500 a month after expenses have been taken off but earns about £1k a month before expenses? xx

I have just stopped recieveing it and I got £123.06, could have got it for nine months but chose to go back to work and stop payments. They ask you income on form I completed to claim it but dont think it makes a massive difference, if any to what you get.

If your friend has been paying her class 2 contributions it doesn't matter what she has earnt - she will be eligible for the full maternity allowance. When I did mine I didn't have to declare any of my earning because I had paid national insurance.
