Default a couple of questions please

Hi i just wondered if anyone could answer me a couple of questions please. Im just doing the register and wondered if for example a child came
    8.10am til 9am then

    12 til 4.50

If you would put 50 mins next to the morning box or round it to nearest hour
and 4hr 50 mins for afternoon or just round it to 5hrs?

Ive totally forgot the other question lol so i shall post it if i remember.
    Many thanks in advance x

I write down the exact amount of time they have been with me in both the am and pm box. It is an Ofsted requirement to log down the exact time of arrival and departure now. So if they arrive at 9.22am then we can no longer put 9.20am.

When I do the register I put the actual time they came in and the time they left
    child x arrived 7:30 left 12:15 - date
I think it is important to put the exact time in case should something happen you can refer back to the day and check that parents were on time, late...
Hope it helps. As for second question, fire away when you remember!!

I put down the exact arrival times and departures but round it up to nearest half hour in the 'hours' box - does that make sense.

had my inspection on Tuesday and she didn't comment on it so assume that it was OK.

    I remembered 2nd question
How long does it take you all to do a practice fire drill?

From hearing the smoke alarm to assembling outside?
How long is too long? Thanks

As quick as safely possible is how long it should take, the time it takes will depend on what you are doing at the time of the alarm, if you have little ones asleep upstairs its gonna take longer than having everyone together in the front room

Ofsted want the exact times that the children are with us. I put the times in but don't bother to add them up now

I don't think you should worry about the length of time it takes you to do a fire drill (as long as it isn't ridiculous). I think it is more important that your drill goes smoothly and if you find any problems during your run through then to log it down and note how you might improve it next time. This might simply be making sure you leave a list of emergency telephone numbers closer to your exit so you can telephone parents in case of a realy fire.

I ASK my parents to put the exact time they arrive when signing in their children although i have one parent who is constantly early but still always puts 8am so I change it every morning after she goes, she must see it when she signs out at the end of the day but never gets the message ! sometimes she has been and gone and its still not even 8am , i dont bother adding up the hours mins as it takes tooo long xxx
