pregnancy and cleaning

hi guys, just after a little bit of advice, im 16 almost 17 weeks pregnant and constantly clearing up after the kids and cleaning, as well as doing dishes and trying to cook for my family is killing me.

I literally scrub the bathroom top to bottom and the same with the kitchen (no dishwasher - i wish) and i tidy away whatever toys the kids 'forget' to put away as well as hoover, this as well as family stuff is giving me an aching back and a very sore belly where its pulling on the muscles round the baby, and its making me very tired and resentful. hubby works til at least 7pm sometimes later so i cant really expect any help until the weekend. i like to do it once the kids have gone so i know its all clean and disinfected and they arent likely to pee on the bathroom floor or spill anything on the kitchen floor.

do u guys fully scrub everywhere or are u abit more relaxed with it, im finding it really hard to deal with all this day in day out, i need to chill out abit somehow so i dont end up in bed with a bad back or something

i think you need to slow down, do mild cleaning threw the week and blitz at weekend.

i hoover 2 a day cause i have 2 dogs and a cat but other wise just 1

make sure you get the children to put the toys away

I'm the same as Rascal. I do the minimum that has to be done during the week and then blitz it on Sunday.

Nope hun - life is too short to be cleaning and I don't want to be remembered for just having a clean house.

I do the necessary (wipe up/disinfect the loo and bathroom daily - well ok the loo is more often with so many boys lol), the dishwasher gets put on 2/3 times a day, hoovered twice (dogs and kids). I do a big blitz once a week and do what needs to be done daily.

I agree with Rascal - you have to and need to slow down. Kids must not forget anymore - if they do it goes away for a week, older kids can help out more and wipe up spills and I know you are saying hubs works hard but he can help out a bit too. (Bri works from 6.30ish am through to 5.30 comes in sees kids and often goes back out to work till 9ish when the weather and light is good but I still expect him to do a little - push a hoover around/wash up/packed lunche/clean bathroom after use. I work hard too - its give and take.

The world won't end tomorrow if you ease up a bit and no one expects a minders house to be spotless. Save a bit of energy for your new baby!

the problem with getting the older kids to help and tidy up is just that, they cant blooming do it - lazy a** kids and im sick of constantly asking them ( their mum does everything for them) - the youngest (almost 4) tidies up the best, they cant even put away their yoghurt pot lids or their cups and i generally leave them til they arrive the next morning and ask them what they forgot to do but it gets me down, im so scared ofsted or some other official will drop by unannounced and my house wont be clean enough (not sure where i read or heard it, may have been on here and from other minder mates but ofstead are supposed to be reinspecting everyone)

when my nephew comes around he still crawls around on the floors hence y i clean and scrub them all the time, so i know they are clean - and now a baby on the way, i will end up more paranoid its not clean!

i think i think about things far too much, no wonder im not sleeping properly at the min, im constantly worrying about something or other :-(

wish i cud get a cook too, lol

I'm very house proud (my hubby says i have OCD) but there are limits to what you can physically do in a day. just keep things reasonably clean and tidy. No one will notice but you!! honest!!

Sounds like you are worrying too much hun. Remember it boosts their immune systems to be exposed to a certain amout of germs.

I would take it a bit easier - otherwise the unthinkable might happen

A bit of dust won't hurt if left - after all once you see it, it doesn't matter how deep it is!

I have a cleaner and she is a god send. No relatives to help out?

u need to take it easier and look after ur self more.

as for the kids not tidyin up tell em if they dont start tidyin then they wont be able to play as its not fair on u to have to clear their mess!!!!!

they will soon start tidyin if they realsise they wont get toys if they dont
