Starting points

How do you/how can I prove I have childrens starting points when they start with me? I was getting parents to tick off statements on "What happens when" but have stopped doing this (got a bit slack) and now wonder how I will prove I know their starting points! Obviously I am observing them from day 1 but is this enough to satisfy an inspector??

I have a form I made. Very simple with just a few headings, PSED, C&L, Physical etc.

Under each section I put a few bullet points - things I've observed, things parents tell me during their visits.

I also use it to note favourite songs, stories, TV programmes, likes & dislikes, daily routine, sleep routine etc.

It's very basic but means I have a sheet with lots of initial info on it.

Thanks Mouse, this is a good idea. Wish Id just created a simple form myself now!
