RATIOS - THE 30 HOURS FUNDING - CHILD AT SCHOOL NURSERY

DfE now state that if a childminder looks after a 3 or 4 year old child before and after school nursery (before 9am - after 3pm - they are there for a full school day) - not pre-school or private nursery children - then you can now take on another child to fill their place and have 4 children under 5 as a variation - as long as you can demonstrate to an inspector that you are managing it well during inspection... and never more than 6 under 8.

The variation can continue through the holidays as well as term time...

Or you can, of course, charge parents an 'on call' fee to hold the child's space open - it's up to you
