    Exclamation Caring for over 8s

I am newly registered and registered on the early years register and compulsory part of the childcare register. I hadn't intended to care for over 8s but have been asked to help someone out until July. It is for an 11 year old who is being home schooled until they start at their new school in September (I will be caring for them from 8:30am to 3:30pm a few days a week). Am I able to care for over 8s without doing anything else as far as Ofsted are concerned? Is there anything else I need to consider or do before I say yes? I know I need to ensure it doesn't impact on the care of under 8s and that I have enough space. Thanks

it is easy to add the voluntary register to your registration ... we look after older children it either works well or it doesn't!

Speak to the child see what their expectations are - speak to the parents - work together and find the best path to take together
