    Default Funding

    Hi

I've recently been upgraded to GOOD and am now able to offer funding. I currently have 2 children who turn 2 in the summer so are eligible for the funding in September. I'm a little confused by it all. Are 2-3 year olds only allowed 15hours funding and 3-4 year olds entitled to 30hours funding?

Are there any easy guidelines I could print off for my parents to read?

Is there any easy guidelines I could read to explain and get me up to date?

As I was downgraded 2015 so I couldn't offer it so kind of ignored it.

Any advice or assistance greatly appreciated.

Have a look on your local authority website as they may have some information on there. Ours has got info for parents and childcare providers.

2 year old funding is for families who earn less than a certain amount. It's not available for all 2 year olds, only those who qualify.

All 3 and 4 year olds are then entitled to 15 hours funding. From September some will also qualify for an additional 15 hours. Their parents need to be working for at least 16 hours a week and earn less than £100k a year (that's off the top of my head, so double check). So some 3 and 4 year olds will get 30 hours funding while some will still get 15.

Good reply from Mouse ... most info should be on your LA website and they all have their own rule books.

From Sept the rules are changing for 3 and 4 year olds and LAs have a lot less wriggle room about what they can and cannot do.

We are all waiting for them to make their decisions at the moment
