    Default Looking after Family...

From April 2017 i will be looking after my brothers twins when his wife returns to work but will still be doing before/after school care and holiday cover for my regulars who are all over 8.My understanding is i no longer need to be registered on the Early Years Register as the children i care for are family and i have no intention of taking on any more Early Years children, but i will remain Registered as i provide more that 2hrs childcare a day for the schoollies. Am i correct????
What happens with Ofsted? Do they register me with no children on roll?

The rules for 'registration not required' are here - annex A - https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...g_handbook.pdf

Parents cannot claim childcare element of tax credits or vouchers / tax free childcare if the provider is not registered with Ofsted.

They will also not be able to take the funded sessions...

    I hope that helps
