We painted all our toy elephants as either Elmer or just patterns.... They were left to dry and stood on the side for a week or so...

    Today we washed them ...
Yellow,Blue and White paint washed off ... The red, pink, purple has stained them! I've even had them soaking in bleach and scrubbed them (not the mindees) and ... I

    now have multicoloured elephants!

The photo doesn't show the staining as much as 'real life'!
(Don't have photo of decorated elephants without childrens faces)

We have a pale pink polar bear from when my DD painted it a few years ago. It does make me chuckle every time I see it though, sweet memories.

Painting them as Elmer is such a lovely idea. I bet they loved that. It's so nice to have a canvas other than paper to paint. x

Very sweet. Painted with love and scrubbed with frustration. You'll have to stick with making Elmer from the plastic milk cartons. Always popular here.

Well, they look like very happy elephants so they obviously like the new colours
