    Default Chicken pox?

A parent has just informed me that her little one has chicken pox (caught from an older sibling)

Child was here with my little one and 2 other mindees on Friday.

I'm just wondering what should I do?

Do I need to inform other parents that a child had this,?

What is the likeliness of them all catching the pox?

    Many thanks

    Xx

Lot of it about at the moment! Your other little one may not catch it,
Children in my setting have had it twice in the last year and no one else caught it but it's a good idea to warn parents there has been a case in your setting and what your exclusion policy is

Thanks for such a quick reply. Can I just ask how long you exclude for? A week from when spots come out?

    Thanks x

I have in my policies five days or when spots crust over.. Personally I think a week from appearance of spots would be more clear .. I like that!!

I just tell the parents that their child has been in contact with a child who now has chickenpox and share the NHS website for signs of symptoms and exclusions.
