    Default 6 weeks Holidays...

is anyone else dreading them or just me? I love having a routine and without one in the holidays I go into meltdown and all our playgroups close down

Would love term time only!! Anyway we are off on hols on Saturday for two weeks and I am off every Friday at least through holidays so should go by quite fast.. My kids finished last Friday
And go back last week in August so about 8 weeks in holidays. I don't look after any schoolies and they are good with the smallies, we take a picnic most days and go out and about. I don't like that I can't get to groups if I want (all still open but my kids would be bored) as it is good to have some structure but I do like that the little ones have a later nap if we are out and don't have to do school run (2pm) as that means a quick short afternoon! Hope it goes smoothly for everyone anyways!

I had notice off one of the big ones yesterday so I am left with one big one and 3 little ones and the big one that's left is very hard to please

I only have my son extra in the holidays, don't look after big children. He plans lots of activities for my LO's and helps me loads, he is 11. We find we go off out over the fields and to the parks more as not on a time limit due to early lunch ready for afternoon nursery.

I have the first week and the third week off, so it breaks it up

I think I'm looking forward to it!

I enjoy not having the time restraints of the school runs but equally miss the structure it gives to the day!

Most of the time I only have my LOs plus my own 9 & 12yr olds who most of the time enjoy having the LOs around! I have a schoolie one day a week but he fits in very well. I'm off for the middle 2 weeks and have got a couple of other days off so will probably get to the end of the holidays and won't have done half of what I wanted to!

I HATED it last year and was quite down by the end of it. No playgroups open and the park was so horribly over crowded I tended to avoid it. All my friends seemed to be away for the whole Summer so I had no adult company. Hated keeping my DD in for LO's naps etc.

Not dreading it quite as much this year for some reason. I think I'm relieved not to be doing horrible school run on the bus. Also, my main mindee can now finally sleep in a pushchair and so we can still get out and about a bit. Really hate that playgroups/swimming lessons/dance lessons stop though!
