Default Short term contract and notice period if any

If a parent is on a short term contract with you, temporary and may only need you for 2 weeks or possibly a month (all a bit up in the air at the mo!) then would you ask them for any notice to end the contract and if so then how many days? Or would you say no notice required but no money refunded? Thanks

for short term/ temporary contracts of 4 weeks or less, I ask for payment in advance and this is only refunded if I can not work. if parents don't know how long care is for, then ask them to pay for a week at a time in advance.

    good luck x

I have just taken on a short term contract. I have asked for a weeks notice and asked that they pay weekly in advance rather than every 4 weeks, however I do have a 4 week settling period so they may terminate when they like within this period.
