New mindee bit another mindee in the car whilst in the school run. Both Mums turned up at the same time to pick up. Had to tell them both what happened awkward wasn't the word.
One of my other mindees finishing tonight. Told him I would miss him.....he said he wouldn't miss me as he doesn't like me.

    Thanks Carol xx
Little boy that said he doesn't like me is only 4 so trying not to take it personally - hard though I have looked after him and his brother for 6 months now, cuddled him when he is upset, cooked for him took him out etc etc all the stuff we do - and it's never nice when someone says they don't like you !!
Think it may be because I asked him to tidy up the playroom yesterday (with my help) and when he absolutely refused to I said he couldn't play in there tonight then. Either that or he genuinely doesn't like me! Sob ! Oh God roll on 9.30pm !!

At least it is all over now. Maybe the child said they didn't like you because they were leaving and did not know how to deal with it.

I have a child who when mum comes to collect regularly shouts that he hates her and runs away to hide. He doesn't hate her, he just hates the fact that he has to stop playing and go home.

    I am !!
She turned up at 8.45pm as I had got pick up time wrong then spent the next hour and 15 minutes talking to me whilst her kids playing up as they were tired and wanted to go home !
Didn't want to be rude as she was upset but couldn't believe it when she told me about no retainer as she was leaving !!
Can someone please direct me to the nearest course on how NOT to be a people pleaser !!!

I try not to let parents in, and even when they do come in (cold wet weather) it's in the hall.
This job is tough and not paid very well. I work very hard and when it's time to go - its time to go!! I hope that doesn't sound rude but I have my own family to think about.

I'm always polite, but usually have a quick 2 mins chat and then ill close down things b y saying 'ok have a good evening then' I open door and see you tomorrow.
I also try and get children ready for when they are due to go so there is no faffing around when parent arrives

I always have children ready 10 mind before collection. If a parent arrives early which happens a bit I open the door and say oh was not expecting you yet just let me get x... I then hand over the child and say go you on and strap them in I will get their bag coat etc that way parent goes to car I grab stuff and go back to the door... works all the time lol
