    Default Are You Allowed

    Hi,

Was talking to another childminder and we both unsure of this...

Are you allowed to put initials and your contact number on children reins if they were to go missing.

'I.E My name is AJ please telephone ***** on ******* if I am lost. Thank you'

We both know that a child that young enough to wear restraints should always be constantly supervised and wasn't sure if allowed to do this due to safeguarding issues but it a good idea as children can sometimes run! X

I personally wouldn't put child's name, but don't see a problem with your mobile number. I found a lost 11 year old at a very busy local evening event and whilst the child didn't know the mobile of the people she was with, she knew her home number and it was so much easier to reunite her with her group

Yes I agree AJ was just inital not name but can see logic in not using names or initials.

It was just another friend had. Thanks x

I have my mobile number on some reflective jackets - don't put initials as the child wearing it changes. Haven't lost one yet (touch wood)

I have hi viz vests with "I'm with Sarah" on and my mobile number - I mentioned getting some to a parent and she remembered and kindly got me 6 (in various sizes) as a leaving present - the mindees wear them when out and about on walks and at the park - do you think it would be strange to get them to wear them inside eg: soft play?

I use reusable clip on wrist straps with my phone number on. They come in all different patterns, from amazon.

I have bracelets with my mobile number on and all the kids (even the 13yr old!) know to show the bracelet if lost. So far I've never needed to use them thank god!

Hi there, could I ask where you bought the bracelets from? Were they expensive? I have been trying to source them for ages, without any luck. They are all very expensive, unless you buy hundreds.
    Thanks

My sister made them for me. They are just simple friendship band type ones with number beads with my mobile number in them! I'm out now but I'll upload a picture of them when I get in!

She wouldn't make them again though as she said they took hours!!!!!

Thanks Hectors House, looked on there before, no luck. Will have another look, as they might have updated the stock.

Good stuff! I had my own business importing and distributing baby products in a past life so I am good at finding hard to find baby products to make your life easier!
