Default Parent dont click with on phone!

Ever had a stilted conversation with a potential parent on the phone?! Just take a call from a mum with two kids who perfectly fits the hours that I have available.. I was a bit awkward cos I had to tell her I charged while child is at preschool and I think she was a bit surprised. Anyways she says she is coming tomorrow night., ever had this and it worked out?! Just feels like it might be a waste of time!

I charge if child is at pre school as I still have to keep that place open if in case I have to collect the child early or preschool is closed because if the weather etc and of course in school holidays! Don't feel guilty... some parents have a knack of making you feel like you're ripping them off!

Yes I have had the exact same feeling, but I remained professional and kept my business head on and everything turned out fantastic - super kid and super family, sometimes our gut feelings are way off. crazy

Make the best out of it and give it a go. remain consistent with your approach, policies and procedures so mum is aware of where you stand, you never know this could be a golden opportunity in disguise.

Im rubbish at phone calls - infact I avoided calling people wherever possible until only a few years ago. Im sure I would have sounded rude sometimes , it was nerves. Could that be it? Meet face to face and then you can decide

A few years ago I spoke to one mum on the phone and really didn't like the sound of her. I almost phoned to cancel our meeting! She turned out to be a lovely woman and I had her children here for 6 years, so I was glad I stuck with the appointment

Thanks for reassurance guys, good to know! Not sure if she is coming now, apparently she hadn't noticed we have pets so she needs to talk to her dh who is afraid of dogs.. She also put up an advert this afternoon

Well if it's meant to be it will happen!
