Default My lovely new covered play area!

My lovely husband has spent every evening this week making me this fab wooden covered area for the bottom of my garden, this means a)I get some of my garden back and b)the mindees have a cool, shady area to play and we can have more outdoor play in the winter.

It's a bit sad how excited I am and my mindees love it!

It is outdoor carpet from expressgrass.com and it's our second lot,our very uneven council laid concrete patio is covered in it too....it's fab stuff, comes in lots of colours and you can just brush it with a soft kitchen brush though I must confess that I was out there hoovering it at 10pm last night....and we wonder why the neighbours don't speak to us!

Can you literally put the carpet straight down?

A friend told me to get artificial grass. She said it's easy - just dig out the grass, remove some soil, level it all, box in the area, fill it with sand etc etc...that is not my idea of easy!

...why do you all have handy husbands/partners Mine wouldn't know a saw from a hammer!!
Very green with envy at the pics and am currently staring out at my garden, which I was perfectly happy with yesterday, wondering how I can improve it
Did the sheltered areas cost a lot or were you able to do them on a budget? Don't want to be spending a fortune as we privately rent and there's always a chance we could be given our 2 months notice and asked to leave xx

    They both look great.

Although my hubby is quite handy it takes him ages to get round to doing things so I'd probably be retired before he finished it!

    Miffy xx
    Keep smiling!
