Help please with 3 x 1yr olds and highchair logistics!

As of September I will have two 1yr olds most days, and then in January (when they are 19mths old) a 12mth old will join us. (If all goes to plan!)

So, I'm trying to work what to do about highchairs to go around the kitchen table...

I currently have a wooden folding one.

I also have a Tripp trapp, which I could add a baby set to. But the sets are expensive even secondhand, and I think I will trip over the stabiliser extensions you have add to the back!

Ikea antilop: Love the price and clean-abilty! But do wonder about storage, and whether it would work fitting a few around the same table because of the way the legs splay.

Or a folding highchair? The Ikea one is very compact. But what about cleaning the fabric?

Or booster seats? Which ones are best for 1yr olds? Any problems with dining chairs tipping with these?

Any advice would be most welcome!

I use the basic Mothercare Booster seats. I've found these fine even for 10mth olds.

I don't like the antilop one. They have 2 at the family centre I go to and they are difficult to adjust the strap on, they only have a lap belt and if you have a Houdini they can wriggle out and stand up. The legs don't splay too much and they stack. There is very little back support and children sometimes look really uncomfortable in them. If they are too young and start they bang their head on the hard plastic. Other people love them I just don't.

They also have these boosters On The Go Baby Portable Booster Seat High Chair 5 Straps Foldable Easy To Carry. Which seem ok but does depend on the type of chair that you fit it on and they have to be watched again as they only have a lap belt too. Easy to store and can take it out and about. Mothercare do a similar with 5 point harness.

I have the Kiddicare crumble £19.99. They look comfortable in it and I prefer it to the expensive one that I also have. Can't get a link to work

Easier to store the boosters but would depend on whether you have houdinis or wrigglers or those that sit nice and quiet. And how much space you have available and room to manoeuvre round the table

I use the mothercare booster seats too. Good for the ages you mention, reasonable, easy to clean and they stack together to save space at the weekend.

I use Ikea ones and stack them behind my door but I can take the legs off very easily and put them in a cupboard....

I just got my ds a nuna off eBay. Great as legs go straight down. I was given one demand from family members that as chair was to be there all the time it had to have legs they wouldn't trip over. Have to say I love it. Way over priced brand new though.

i have 2 of these 2 - they are fab because they stack so even 3 is just like having 1 when stored (ifyswim ). However, we have a lip and underledge on our table and hubby had to saw an inch off the legs for me so they fitted under.

I had 3 babies once - when they started together, had 18months, 15 months and 8 months. 2 younger in ikea chairs and older 1 in a booster chair.

I use booster seats from 8 months. I have the Mothercare ones which have two sections which clip together for smaller children and use top part only as they grow.

With booster seats I use the normal walking reins harness and attach it with the supplied D ring loops to the kitchen chair to prevent them falling/climbing off. The harnesses are usually easy to wash in the machine if they get messy.

Good point about checking the Antilop height - our table has a lip and an under ledge too.

The Kiddicare crumble highchair reminds me of the one I had for DD1 way back (aww) and it worked well for her.

Re the boosters, I've found a couple and just wanted to check if these are the same sort as those people have recommended?

i have two of the fisher price healthy care booster seats, i also have an escape artist of a 15 month old who can get out of pushchairs and similar. I would recommend them to anyone they are great.
