    Default It's gone potty here

After 4 1/2 years of few enquiries and having to work part-time, as well as childmind, in the last 2 weeks I have had a few enquiries.

    1) Girl 9 after school (same class as dd2 and they get on well) poss sibling 11 & hols
    2) Two siblings after school 5 & 7 & hols
    3) 9 month old fulltime and sibling 4 (at school hols only)
    4) 12 month old

    All awaiting interviews/job confirmation

+ Baby (not born) to start next year shift work

Then to top it all there are only 3 minders in this rural area (including me) and one is giving up so she rang me to say she was giving parents my number. Have had one call today (2 yo 2 days), she has said her sister will be calling too(2 school age).

Unfortunately as it is a rural area I have to drive to school so limited to 5 mindees due to car seats and dd2. Going to need a minibus! Can't take them all will be first to sign on dotted line.

Was happy with the enquiry for baby as that meant I could stop working and childmind full-time again next year. Now have the chance for Sept to start. Could do it in 4 weeks but would prefer sept when other minder stops. It had become a catch 22 people knowing I was working 3 days didn't ask me for those days.

It looks like things might be looking up for you at long last then

It is strange how sometimes you do not hear anything then they all come along together

    Good luck

I guess the goverments policy getting mums back out to work is working LOL! Glad for you. Have you come across the 4 seats, with built- in 3 point seat belts, that can go across a 3 seater car? Expensive but at least you can get an extra child into the car safely. Your 5 seater car becomes a 6 seater!

That's great news! I'm getting a few more too, which is good as I'm just starting again after being on maternity leave. Hx

Good for you Tulip. Maybe it's a Wales thing. I have enquiries coming out of my ears and just wish I could fulfil them all. Mine is due to the expansion of Flying Start provision and as one of the few minders that offer this type of care I am completely inundated. I get all the calls for children who are entitled to the funding but for whatever reason are not suited to a larger nursery setting. Seriously considering my husband working full time with me

Thank you. They have started Flying Start in our local small town and the Childminding group I belong to are going to be providing it BUT I am over the county border. But they are all full even before the flying start started! and 5 of the 12 members are on the wrong side of the border.

There was an article about them in The Guardian, I think a few years back, so you might find it on their website.
