    Default Painting tyres

I have acquired some tyres for my garden and I want to paint them bright colours. Has anyone successfully done this? What paint should I use?

I painted mine with normal household paint, I had some silk emulsion left over in white and pink. I painted mine 12 months ago and they still look fab

I probably won't paint mine as the kids enjoy the fact that they are 'real' tyres and painting them makes them look more like 'toy' tyres. If I did paint them I would try plain emulsion paint.

    Great, thanks.

Bob - do you find the children get black marks on their clothes from them?

No marks on them or their clothes. I did give them a scrub with soapy water first and drilled lots of holes (tyres not children) in the lower sidewalls so any water could run out and not become stagnant. They are so heavy (still talking about tyres, not children) that they haven't needed fastening down at all, which is more than I can say about the children.
