Great advice already given I just wanted to add- please do not let her dictate you no matter how much she tries. That is the problem you can get when you do others favours and help them out and they look at you as a friend, i know I have been there and I won't be doing it again - swapping day, holding spaces open, trying to fit my hols around others and I have learned! Just say sorry no. If she doesn't like hun, good riddance I say - you are better off without her

I hope you got on ok when you met up tonight! Re the holidays I am the same no charge for mine and full fee for theirs if at a different time. I just worked out my holidays for the year a couple of weeks ago and gave them a note of them so if the parents want to arrange to take holidays at same time as me they can rather than them expecting me to take same holidays as them x

You are a childminding professional. Keep your cool and deal with your client in a professional manner. You may have to put this one down to experience.

    I wish you well.

Any 'friend' who acts like this, does not deserve to be called a 'friend'. Don't give her an inch.

Hi, it went well. (in fact I am really proud of myself) I was nice, professional, stood my corner & stated fact. Was very clear about the fact this is the way I run my business & it is actually how the majority also work. I didn't go into all the favours I had done her, but just subtly said that I had accommodated every request she had made but I take holiday when I choose, if I can I will try to take some when is 'mutually convienient' but this is not a given. Was all very quick, pleasant etc. She had made a huge fuss about my policies/contract not being very clear but was not interested in going over them. I pointed out the important bits to her & she just said ok thats fine I just wanted to know where I stand.

Trust me though, I will not forget how she has been. I will learn from it though so its no bad thing AND she has learned that she cannot bully me

I love this forum, I would really be lost without the support. There isn't much about for us guys who are on our own, can't talk to anyone due to confidentiality etc so a big THANK YOU XXXXXXXXXXXX

Apologies for the random full stops. Phone buttons too small, thumbs too big.
