    Default croup

    Hi

I've looked on hpa site and nothing on croup so I was wondering if it's classed as an infectious disease. Nhs states
That the cough itself is not contagious bit the Parainfluenza virus is, this is just a common cold virus. I have one sent home and been told he has croup and another lo coughing like a seal today. Do I need to let anyone..apart from parents know that they may have croup.
    Thanks.

It's a tricky one because we cannot diagnose... we can suggest parents take child to the doctor and that's about all.

If the child isn't well enough to be with you - can't join in etc - then they are best at home.

Hope they all get better soon!
