    Default im i being selfish

    we have had a horrible year sep last year my mother in law passed away very suddenly my father in law is a acholic he hit the drink bit time my hubby and and his brother couldnt cope was left for me and sis inlaw anyway he s been great till now stopped drinking everything now hes started again we are due to go on holiday tuesday first hol on our own with out our 2 my father in law is poorly but only through drink i have said we are not going near till after our hol we need it so much 2 weeks after my mother in law died my hubby lost his job 2 things were just looking up for us he has new job i very busy are we being selfish?????????????

    in a word NO youre not being selfish you have both had an awful year now its time to take some you time enjoy your hol together you both so deserve itcongratulations on hubbys new job and im glad youre busy dont feel guilty have a fab hol

    Its not selfish to put yourself 1st from time to time. You need a rest to recharge your batteries and when you get back you will feel more able to be there for your extended family. Go for it

    No,if you dont have a break you could end up being the ones needing looking after! It's natural to feel guilty but sometimes your own needs come first
    ***** proofed the house but they're still getting in!

    no, go and enjoy your hols and you need to step back and let dh and his family deal with FIL.
    if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got
