    Default Fire Inspections

I have seen some posts refering to Fire Inspections. Have I missed something major about needing to have these done?

I haven't had one and my DO hasn't mentioned it in any visit.

I think they are only needed in Scotland.

fire officers will visit to give you free advice about fire safety - just ask your local fire station.

However, it is only a requirement in Scotland ... it is often requested before overnight care is authorised as well but that seems to depend on who you talk to at Ofsted.

Well worth contacting your local fire brigade - made my day to have 2 young fireman in uniform in my bedroom!!

Also they picked up that I was using several cube plug adapters and recommended that I swap them for the long adapters instead - as the weight of the plug adapters can mean that it pulls away from the socket which may cause a spark and start a fire.

They were also giving away free smoke alarms at the time but I obviously already had two.
