    Default termination of contract

well i had a parent who walked into my home and treated it like her home she used my weighing scales and her child was always crying so at the gym last night a fellow childminder told me she is looking for another childcare for her daughter because im giving her daughter solids and she is 11 months old so i phoned her yesterday and she was very nasty and dry so i told her there wil be a letter issued to terninate our contract 4 weeks notice! i cant put up with her anymore and i was very unhappy looking after this child so i feel a big weight off my shoulders! i feel terrible but my hubby will not come home if this child is here my marriage is my main priority over a child so i think i done right!!

so after this i am revising my policies and doing extra paper work i.e a probation cpntratc for 2 weeks if it does not work out in two weeks then the proper contract wont go ahead i think i need to sit down some evening and go through all my stuff with a fine tooth comb and cover my back. No more Miss nice girl and i will nto be told by some jumped up woman who has no clue about kids how to run my busniess gggrrr!!

i did it before her so that annoyed her cos i did it first but in my defence i was planning to terminate last week!! i doubt as if she will put her child to me in the 4 weeks if not im billing her for the days she misses!!

you are right same parent who wants her kid only on milk i just cant deal with her anymore! she is patronising (spelling sorry) and rude and just a control freak who was trying to tell me how to run my business. i really didnt like the woman she made me feel small and unworthy i know that sound silly but when i got my new shoes from next she said i like your shoes where did you get them when i said next she turned round and said my childminding muct be good money if you can shop there!! same with my car bought a 54 plate zafira and she said my god she said my you must have money they are really expensive, i mean whats it got to do with her i dont have debts and i live a happy content life i can please myself!!

i reckon she wont put her child back to me and i ponder whether to charge her if that does happen what would you do?

As per your contract (that you are terminating) I would charge her if she doesn't bring the child (after all, it's a new pair of shoes from next for you)

I would do the same, too, if it is in your contract that even if she doesn't keep the child with you she still has to pay, then that is what she should do

    Good luck!

glad you've given notice the stupid woman only giving her child milk

and you absolutely have to charge her for the 4 weeks regardless of whether the child is with you or not. she agreed the notice period she pays it
