Default What is your hourly rate for unsociable hours?

    Hello Guys and Gals!!

I have just had an enquiry for a 1 yr old, 2 days a week 7:30am to 8pm . . . mum is struggling as no-one (i.e. CM, and I can understand why!!!!) will help and she has recently separated from hubby so she is coming on Saturday for a chat.

Have spoken to my hubby (and assistant) and my boys as it will affect them but they are happy about it, my boys are 7 yrs and 11 yrs so dont need my constant attention and are home educated so we do spend ALOT of lovely time together . . . anyway I digress!!

I charge £35 per day 7am to 6pm but not sure what to charge from 6pm to 8pm??

Any advice on fees from those minders who do childmind during unsociable hours.

    Many Thanks!

£6 per hour before 7am and after 6pm- but wouldn't normally do that late.

i would add at least £1/hour to your normal rate, if not £2.

I seem to be in the minority here but I don't charge a higher hourly rate for unsocial hours. However, I am very careful about which children I will take on for these hours because they have to be able to fit in well with my family. I currently have one lo who comes at 7am and another who stays until 8 pm.

My daily rate is £36 for 8am - 6pm. For the hours that you mentioned I would probably charge about £45.
