    Default parent wants recipts

    hello

A parent had randomly been asked to produce evidence for the last financial year for tax credits. So they need evidence of my payments etc..
I use an excel accounts system so that side is easy, I have printed a year summary of payments to me and I sent monthly invoices so that is easy.
But the parent has said she needs receipts for paying me, I have not issued receipts?

    what should I do?

Sounds like TC's are on a right old splurge

A letter on headed paper stating what they have paid suffices. you don't need individual receipts

I agree with Pipsqueak, they do seem to having a splurge and cracking down on people - I have one being checked too - all above board and honest I am glad to say. Had to give mum another copy of contract and invoices as mum had lost invoices and mislaid contract! luckily I have copies

    Might start writing receipts too
Happy to be back with the Greenies

I have a little carbonated receipt book - I give one to parents and then I have a copy for my records.

I don't know if you're with NCMA but on the back of their contracts it states that you will provide a receipt for all payments.

That is all I've ever produced for tax credits (sometimes not even that just told them over the phone) - that says what a receipt would say anyway.

I have had three sets of parents that have had to send proof, pleased really because i think one set has been claiming for holidays when she has a term time only.

I've looked after my sisters two children for 4 year now. TC sent her a letter last week asking for contract and receipts to be sent. She pays me by d/d so just has to send bank statements. It's about time TC started checking more families.

It certainly does re TCs investigations!!! . . . but then again if you are doing nothing wrong it shouldnt matter.

My 2009/2010 Tax Refund hasnt been paid . . . well I am owed that money and they can come and do an audit but I want what is owed to me.

Also you can either issue invoices or receipts, you dont need to issue both unless like me on the odd occasion I am paid in cash, they I do issue a receipt . . . OMG, now TCs want us to do extra useless paperwork

I always write receipts at the beginning of the month when I have received payment.

However, you could just produce a piece of headed paper on the computer and list each month's payments - that will be fine.
