    Default NEF Invoicing

    Hi all,

I was wondering whether some kind soul would be willing to send me a copy of their invoice which would include NEF hours. I just cannot get my head around mine, I have tried adapting my invoice but I am just confusing myself more.

Basically "T" uses 6 hours with me over two days so 2 x days of 3hours and then the extra I bill for as he actually comes to me for 18hours.

HELP.... please before my brain explodes. I can send a copy of my invoice if anyone wants to see?

I would put on the invoice:

    18 hours @ £x per hour
less 6 hours (Funded by NEF)

    total to pay = 12 hours @ £x =

My understanding is that you don't take the funded hours off the normal ones, they are just noted as free. So it might look like...

    W/c -

Funded hours x 12 - free of charge

    Childminded hours x 6 - £ whatever you charge

Meal costs x 2 lunch - £ whatever you charge.

I invoice for NEF funding. In our area we are told not to describe it as free because it is funded.

I find the simpilist way to do it is I write by normal invoice for the full hours that the child has attended then in my refund/deductions box I put the amount to be deducted of the cost for the NEF hours.

    EG:Chargable 10hrs x £4.00ph = £40.00
    Deduction: 5hrs of NEF x £4.00ph = £20.00
    Total to pay = £20.00

I think of NEF as the number of hours never the financial amount as in our area I get paid more per hour under NEF than my normal rate.

    Hope that helps.

You can get 15 hrs, but they have to be over 3 days, well thats what it is here and it can also be split between providers (ie Childminder/ Nursery)
