    Default New Contract - Help

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice, girl came to see me last week to do with childcare for her 5 month old, who will start Aug 11. She phone me on Fri to say she was very happy and would like to get contract sorted so she was already for Aug. I don't charge retainer fees so therefore first payment won't start until Aug, my question is when she come tomorrow to fill out contract, what happens if for instance she cancels, what happens money wise, have I lost out?

    Help appreciated.
    Shelly xx

Why don't you charge a retainer? I don't either but most of mine are immediate starts.

Take the first months fees now which if she cancels you keep (non-refundable deposit in other words.)

I no longer charge a retainer as parents are just not in a position to pay them I find these days. What I do is charge a deposit which covers the first months fees (I am paid in advance) and this is non returnable so that at least I don't lose out too much.

I do the same as buildingblocks, that way you will still get a month's money even if she does cancel.

Since I've been doing this I have never had a parent cancel.
