I would charge for 2hrs at my hourly rate..............but others may charge differently
I would charge from 7.30 to the time i got back, 9.00 or 9.15, and I charge £6per hour for the before school slot.
Would you think if I charged £10 per morning abit too much ? thanks for your replies
This may sound a lot, but i only charge for days used, even if these are variable each week (due to college placements etc changing every few weeks), I only charge this term time, most of my charges are not here holiday times and I do not charge a retainer, those that also come holiday time pay a lower rate for any holiday time hours if needed. Basically if you have a space it is available all week whether used some days or not, just in case.
I charge £5 for before school session, which can be 7.30-9am and £10 for after school 3-6pm. Haven;t filled any morning slots yet though
take a look at what other minders and out of school clubs in your area charge so that you don't sell yourself short or price yourself out of the market.

...almost the same as me
I charge a flat rate £3/hr
you only pay for contracted hrs and extra hrs
i have several shift workers and again they only pay for hours used as they are variable
term timers do not pay retainer for holidays
I do not charge for my holidays or parents holidays (with 4 weeks notice)
....................to be fair though OH has reminded me fees are going up on Aug 1st to £3.50
I am the same as you, I have shift workers and TBH I know they are struggling for money, so if I charged them for the 4 possible days, they wouldnt use me. They pay me a minimum of £10 hours a week by Standing Order and any extras are paid by cheque on invoice. I also have several term time only and only charge if they need me in the holidays, they dont pay a retainer. Having said that I took on a teacher and should have charged her half fees in the holidays, but would do next time.
I have a little boy that comes at 8.15 and i take him to school. I charge £7 per day for this. I am now wishing i charged more because it has been quite a hassle- making sure my son is up and dressed, making sure other mindees are here on time, getting everyone ready to leave etc. Its a 30 minute walk, would take just as long in the car once i'd strapped them in to car seats/ set up buggy etc. Then 25 minues walk back.
I thought all the walking would help me lose weight but its not working!
When I had a before schooler from 7.30 to school drop off at 8.40 then I charged £10 a morning. This included breakfast.
Familiarity breeds contempt - and children Mark Twain
MY £6 charge doesnt include breakfast and I have to go to the school anyway to take my dd.
I charge £12.00 for minimum of 2hrs ,as its before 0800,would expect child to have had breakfast or bring it with them ,i dont provide.I take two children to school at moment and wouldnt do it for less as other children have to go out in all weathers and it can be a real hassle.I thought that by putting charges higher than breakfast club it would put people of ,but no such luck.
im selling myself short! I have 3 children who are either before and after school or just after school. I charge £4 an hour for any child that comes so thats all i charge for them. They pay me from 8-9 and then 3.15-4.15 or 5.15 (depends who they are and which days) so i just charge them £4 for every hour they use. I should have looked into it more i think, oh well.
My first schoolie comes at 6am, the the next schoolie at 7:30; i charge double time before 8am, then £3.50 ph, breakfast included.

I've had my first before school enquiry from a friend. I have 2 different amounts in my head. The first one I thought was too much so came up with the second, lower amount but now I have to keep reminding myself that it's my business and I should charge what's fair - maybe somewhere in the middle?!!
