    Default birthdays...

hello everyone - hope you're all well

was just thinking about something last night and wondered what your thoughts were if you don't mind!

....with regard to birthdays for little ones - if parent choses not to send their little one on their birthday - would you still charge?

I'm a serious soft touch (!) but contracts say full fee parent / child holiday or sickness - no fee childminder sickness / holiday

....feel mean charging on birthdays but I can't afford not to IYSWIM?!

I've always charged it as normal. It's never occured to me not to.

One mindee had a birthday last week & had the day off, another one has his birthday in a couple of weeks & he'll be off as well. I've still charged though.

I will charge, child day off is full charge (birthday or not), if you want to be nice buy a small present or do a party when he is back ( few ballons, card, treat etc) will cost you few pounds insted of a day work.

I charge the normal fee for all mindees absences whether illness, holiday, bank holiday, occasional days off such as birthdays etc. The only time they do not pay me is when I am not working.

I always charge - I only charge half fees for parents holidays so they could always book it as that if they wanted to (though they often do send them still!)
