I have a minimum daily rate of £24, so even if I dont drop off and pick up I still get £24.

I charge full fees if i drop off and pick up, but not if i only do a one way journey, generally.

I do know a childminder who managed to get paid while the child was at nursery and she did not drop off or pick up, she got the mum to come out of work to collect the child from nursery and drop her off at the childminder, this she said secured the place needed during the holiday time.

Personally i don't do that, but hey i guess if you can get it then why not!

If I drop off and collect - full fee

If I drop off - charge until then

If I collect only - charge from collection time

I take it the parent will want these hours covered in holiday time?

It makes sense to me that if I were to be the emergency contact then yes I would take full fee.

But what if you have a 3 year old and mum drops them off at nursery and you collect them. (charge from collection time) what if you were lucky enough to sell those 2 and a half hours every morning what would you do-when it comes to the school holidays?

What I think I am trying to say is would you ask the parent to to make a decision, in order to keep the place for the school holidays you have to pay the normal fee or I will sell the place/??????

    Does it sound harsh??

I always charge for when the child is at nursery whether I drop them off or not as presumably the child will take the space during holidays/insets etc - this also means that on one morning a week at the mo I have a few hours free to do paperwork! Joy!!
