    Default Visit And Charge Fees

    Hi all,
Had a phone call today from a parent wanting childcare for his 10month old baby daughter, I've arranged for them to come and see me tomorrow morning at 10am.

Would like some advise please, my hourly rate is £3.00 per hour this includes snacks and drinks this is what i'll be charging, I do breakfast extra at £1.00 don't do cooked meals, I prefer parents to provide packed lunch and same for baby's own milk formula and food.

can someone give me some on snack items for the 10month old as my experience with baby's was 11 years ago with my youngest. also should I use formula milk on breakfast the baby might have, as I remember I used it on my own childrens breakfast as i was told not to use whole milk until they were 12months old is this right.

When parents phone for childcare do any of you ask them how many hours they are wanting, I wish I did as I hate working price out when they come to see me I always seem to

    Thanks jus

Cows milk is ok for cereal from 6 months, but formula (or breast milk) for milk feeds. Snack wise I offer fruit mostly, or he should be fine with toast or cracker and cheese, breadstix and hoummous, vegetable fingers i.e carrots and cucumber.

I always ask on the phone exactly what hours will be required so that I know whether I can accomodate lo or not.

    Hope it goes well

Snack items can include , breadsticks , most fruit , rusks , plain biscuits ( you can make your own sugar free versions ) rice cakes , that's it can't think of anymore right now.

Latest I read is you can give cows milk on cereal but I will try to find link to website.

I always ask what hours too so I can get some idea of cost for them.

I usually ask what hours they require when they call. Then I can decide if I can fit them in.

I also do a daily rate - £30. This would be equivalent to 10 hours (though most parents do not require 10 hours). You would still need to determine what hours to put on the contract.

I would be tempted to ask the baby's parents to provide all the food. It would make like easier. They usually continue to do this then when the child is older.
