    Default 4 weekly or monthly?

Sorry this may have been done to death before so apologies upfront!
I currently charge 4 weekly and i really like this but the problem is that i dont specify a due date as such so every time i end up being paid late. I am thinking of switching to invoicing for every calender month and insisting fees be paid (including vouchers cleared) by the last day of the month. This way, hopefully that date will be etched into their brain a bit more and they may actually pay me on time. I was then going to get a bit tough and charge my late payment fee (which is minimal anyway!) if they are late in paying in the hope they get the message!!
Has anyone switched like this and how did it work?
    Thanks!

Always done calendar months- means different amount each month, but easy enough to add up and a clear payment date- by 1st of the month, in advance.

    exactly the same here!

I have enough trouble getting invoices out in time doing it monthly ( I always get to the 15th and think 'must do invoices' and it is often the 20th/21st before they are actually done & sent! ) if I had to remember where I was 4 weekly, I'd be in a right muddle!

I have a couple of mums who pay a set amount by DD each month. some months it works they over pay, and some months they underpay, but it works out right in the end!

Sometimes it's difficult for vouchers to clear by the last day of the month if the parents have a last day of the month or say, 28th salary date. The payroll people put their money into the voucher company fund at the same time as they transfer the salary to a bank account, the companies I am registered with take at least 3, often more days to put it into my account. So it's not the parent's fault that they end up being late, I wouldn't charge a late fee for vouchers being put into my account after the last day of the month.

I do monthly. I send out the invoice in mid-month, due for payment on the 1st of the following month. I still have one family that pays weekly.

I agree with Flora Dora re vouchers.
