I usually charge £3.50 hour. Someone is coming to see me tomorrow she is wanting 12-3 Mon -Thursday. Friday 8-3. I've told her that these hours will be taking a full time place. What would you charge. She said child tax credit she will be getting

Personally I would only charged for hours used as it would fit perfectly round a schoolie.

Hi, if this was someone coming to see me, I'd tell them that my minimum fee is my half-day rate for the Monday to Thursday, and full day for the Friday.
Half day is half my day rate plus £10 added on.
When I hear that someone else is paying (such as Child Tax credits), I usually say "No" however. This is because I have the strong belief (backed up by experience) that people don't appreciate anything that they don't personally pay for, but are equally very quick to criticise/cause trouble if they don't get everything their way.
Personally, I'd always hold out to get a working parent.
I hope it helps.

I have a minimum daily fee of £30, so I'd be charging that. If they're not prepared to pay it, I'd hold out for another family.

She did say they would pay up till £120 tax credit

I only charge for the actual booked time.
As natlou says, a good fit around schoolies.
I wouldn't reject it out of hand, but lollipop also has a good point in terms of people not appreciating things they don't pay for. That could lead to a lot of mucking you about in various ways.
Above all, with all the likely changes Tax Credits being discussed, I'd want to know how mum plans to continue the arrangements if her TC entitlement takes a sudden nose-dive.
