Our funding doesn't start until 7th Sept, so it would only be for one week anyway.
I know our LA would let you claim it for one week, but you would have to check with your own LA to make sure. I would guess the answer is no, but I haven't ever really thought about it.
When someone tells you nothing is impossible, tell them to go slam a revolving door
thanks both , didnt realise that rules vary from LA to LA
I am going to err on side of caution and not try to claim it
parent hasnt asked anyway and its only 2 weeks
I wouldn't mention it to the parent just say that the school claims all the funding available for the year.
Our local authority does let the funding be taken between different settings, but I find it a lot of hassle to have to contact the Nursery to find out what they are claiming for and to then just claim for the difference. It only applies to one mindee who goes 2 days to a pre-school that is only open 6 hours a day, term time only - so child has a surplus 3 hours a week, (but I am open 48 weeks of the year).
